Home energy storage system, also known as residential energy storage systems, functions like a mini power station, unaffected by city power supply pressures. During off-peak hours, the battery packs in home energy storage systems can charge themselves for use during peak demand or power outages.
Based on coupling methods and grid integration, home energy storage can be categorized into four types: hybrid home solar + storage systems, coupled home solar + storage systems, off-grid home solar + storage systems, and solar storage energy management systems.
Home energy storage systems utilize an integrated microgrid design, capable of both off-grid and grid-connected operation, with seamless mode switching to greatly enhance power reliability. Additionally, they are equipped with flexible and efficient management systems that can adjust operational strategies based on the grid, load, storage, and electricity pricing, optimizing system operation and maximizing user benefits.
These systems build upon traditional grid-connected solar power systems by adding lithium battery storage. They consist of batteries, hybrid inverters, and solar panels, forming a new type of energy acquisition, storage, and usage hybrid system. Here’s a brief overview of their operation modes:

Morning: Low sunlight intensity, low energy production, high energy demand. At sunrise, solar panels start generating energy, but it’s not enough to meet morning demands; the storage system taps into stored battery power to supply appliances.

Midday: Maximum sunlight intensity, peak solar energy production, low energy demand. During the day, solar panels reach peak energy production. However, with no one at home, energy consumption is very low, so most of the energy produced is stored in the batteries.

Evening: Low sunlight intensity, low energy production, high energy demand. The highest energy consumption occurs in the evening when solar panels produce little to no energy. The storage system uses energy generated during the day to meet the demand.
